Celestron NexStar 130SLT
I have had mine for just under two years and initially I was very impressed with it, giving some great views of the moon and Jupiter. However, despite hardly any use the goto system failed (outside of warranty) the mount would not move, and the hand controller showing communication failure. I sent it to Celestron for an assessment, and was basically told the board had failed and that a new mount was needed - and quoted £279 for the replacement goto mount!! Seriously - that means the tube works out at £70! I would not get another Celestron as two years with minimal use is not demanding for a circuit board and I can only conclude that they use poor quality components. I would recommend everyone to think really hard about buying this scope as a years warranty is not very long.....

READ THE WARRANTY!!!!!
This can not be stressed enough. The Celestron warranty is designed to keep the end user from returning a defective scope for refund. My mistake was in expecting a company like Celestron to be honest and honorable.
My scope is suitable for gathering dust as I will no longer have any dealings outside of a courtroom with Celestron. I strongly suggest that if you purchase any Celestron scope, you return it for refund instead of sending it back for warranty repair.
Celestron's warranty is not worth a damn.
